What is Commandery Inspection?

Inspection is the one time each year when officials of the Grand Commandery of Oklahoma visit our Commandery to make sure that we're conducting ourselves in the proper manner. But it's really much more.

It's a celebration of one more year of spreading Masonic Light. We will be performing the ritualistic opening of the Commandery in full regalia. We will also be conferring the Order of the Temple, which has been called "the most beautiful and inspiring of all the degrees and orders of Freemasonry." Our officers rehearsed for months to ensure a most solemn and impressive ceremony.

But what if you haven't been to a

York Rite meeting in a long, long time?

Don't worry about it. Inspection Night is always our highest attended meeting of the year. Believe it or not, there will be members there who attend even less than you do. And don't worry about uniforms, swords, and the like. Just come dressed as you would for an important Lodge meeting.

In addition to our members, we expect to have many visitors from other Commanderies and several Grand Officers in attendance, probably even the Grand Commander.

Inspection Night is a lot like Homecoming. You'll get to see some old friends, make a few new ones, and have some fun along the way. We look forward to seeing you there!
